Art & Design Scholarship & Financial Aids for deserving students

A various number of financial aids are available to Malaysian students for their studies here at Equator. Applicants should generally possess good academic results and active in co-curricular activities. Most applications would be processed by the Academy Scholarship Board. The Scholarship Board reserves the right to approve or reject/ withdraw ANY application, as and when deemed necessary.

Malaysian students can apply for financial aids/ study loans from the following sources:


Equator Scholarship 2009

EAA offers the following scholarships to students who are interested in Graphic and Multimedia Design, Interior Design, Fashion Design Technology and Fine Art.

Quarter Scholarship - 7As
Half Scholarship - 8 & 9As
Full Scholarship - 10As and above

2008 Form 5 SPM/ UEC Academic Achievement Award

In order to encourage students to work and study harder, Equator is offering the following course fees waivers for SPM/ UEC High Achievers:

  • 1 - 4 'As'             RM200 per 'As'
  • 5 - 6 'As'             RM1000

 

PTPTN Government Loan

PTPTN LOAN is open to ALL DIPLOMA courses for full-time students with a minimum of three (3) credits in SPM.
Maximum loan approved for DIPLOMA Program is RM 5,000 per year.

Equator - Star Education Fund

Equator Academy of Art offers FULL SCHOLARSHIP (100% School Fees waivers) under the Star Education Fund for the studies in:

  • Diploma in Graphic and Multimedia Design
  • Diploma in Interior Design
  • Diploma in Fashion Design Technology
Applications:

Open to Malaysians. To be eligible for these awards, applicants must possess reasonably good results in the Form 5 SPM/ UEC or equivalent, be below 25 years of age (as of 1st January 2009) and must be active in sports or co-curricular activities.

Employees Provident Fund (EPF) Education Withdrawal Scheme

This withdrawal allows you to withdraw your savings from Account II to finance your education/ your children's education (including step-children and legally adopted children) at the Institution of Higher Leaning (IHL) either locally or abroad.

The purpose is to finance education fees (which include tutorial fees, practical training fees, lab fees, library fees, and examination fees), accommodation (hostel fees) and flight ticket only.

Eligibility:

  • Malaysian citizen or
  • Malaysian citizen who has withdrawn your savings under Leaving the Country Withdrawal before 1st August 1995 and subsequently made an election to re-contribute to EPF or
  • Non-Malaysian citizen with Malaysian Permanent Resident (PR) status or
  • Non-Malaysian citizen (Expat) who became a member of the EPF before 1st August 1998.
  • Not reach 55 years of age on the date the application is received by the EPF.
  • Still have savings in Account II.
Applications:

Visit or contact the nearest EPF Office or the EPF Customer Service Department. Please quote your EPF membership number and the withdrawal scheme that you wish to apply when you contact the EPF.

KOJADI Higher Education Loan Scheme (HELS)

Prerequisites for loan application:

  • Applicant must be a member of KOJADi with RM100 initial shares.
  • Applicant must hold the requisite additional shares ranging from RM500 to RM2,000 shares for each child depending on the loan amount applied for.
  • Nominated child/ nominee must have gained admission to an approved institution of higher learning locally or abroad.

The SOCSO Education Fund

Applicants should complete the "Permohonan Pinjaman Pendidikan PERKESO" form which is available at the SOCSO Local Office. Applications should be made directly to:

Bank Study Loan

Students can also apply for various kinds of banks' study loans.

 

Please note that the 1st semester's fees will have to be paid in Full upon enrollment. The financial aids will only take effect from 2nd semester.The difference between the full course fees and the financial aids will have to be borne by the applicant.
